| In "A History of the County of Hampshire: Volume 4", they state that the Margaret l'Engleys who first married John de Breamore is the grandmother of Joan Bayford, implying the Margaret married again later. They also state that Joan Bayford is "a distant kinswoman and heir of Thomas Woodlock". Thomas Woolock, they state, died childless as the grandson of Joan l'Engleys, who was the aunt of a Margaret l'Engleys, who was in turn a daughter of Joan's brother Richard l'Engleys and wife of Philip Dauntsey. This would place Joan Bayford in the correct generation to be the heir of Thomas Woodlock if the two Margaret l'Engleys were in fact the same person. If this is true, Philip Dauntsey is her second husband. They fall short of stating this directly, though I believe it is implied. |
