Francis Nathan Pavey was the son of John Jefferson Pavey and Sarah Augusta Whaley. He was born on October 15, 1873, in Webster Grove, Missouri. He died on July 1, 1913, near Shreveport, Louisiana. He had worked for the Texas & Pacific Railroad, and was killed in a train accident. He is buried in the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie, Louisiana. Frances Ann Couvillon was the daughter of Fulgence Couvillon and Lenora Ann Pavey. She was born on February 10, 1873, in Bordelonville or Marksville, Louisiana. She died on March 23, 1952, in Houston, Texas. She was buried on March 26, 1952, alongside her husband. Francis and Frances were married on October 13, 1895, in the St. Joseph Church in Marksville, Louisiana by Father Francis Grosse. L. A. Gauthier, Samuel Pavey, and L. R. Gremillion were witnesses. Frances and Francis had 6 children: Ruby Augusta (6 Feb 1897 - 29 Aug 1978) m. aft Apr 1930, Oscar Tuero Monzon Leonora Ann (12 Dec 1898 - 9 Mar 1977) m. Bessie J. Frasier; m2. Frances Doles; m3. Anna; m4. Evelyn Francis and Frances were first cousins, but had never met until Frances moved from Missouri to Hamburg, Louisiana. After they were married, Francis worked for his uncle Francis Marion Pavey who operated a large farm, as a clerk in the plantation store. They later moved to Alexandria, Louisiana where Frances found employment with the Texas & Pacific Railroad. He was later transferred to Shreveport, Louisiana. After Francis died, Frances ran a boarding house in Shreveport. For 19 years before her death, she was paralyzed and lived with her eldest daughter in Houston, Texas. |
