| Unknown (This photo was submitted by the descendants of Rachel (Forsyth) Goldsmith, the daughter of Alexander and Rachel (Lindsay) Forsyth. The photo was labeled as "Rachel (Linsay) Forsythe", but that is not possible. The woman in the photo whose hair is not yet gray looks no more than 60 years old. Rachel Forsyth died in 1840 at the age of 90. For this to be a photo of her, it would have had to have been taken around 1810, before photography was available. It is also not likely her daughter Rachel (Forsyth) Goldsmith who would have turned 60 in 1839. The photo is probably that of Eliza Ann (Goldsmith) Clements taken not long before she died in 1858 at age 52.) |
