(Carthage Republican, Sept. 9, 1891) City and Vicinity. Alpha Forsythe, a prominent citizen of Chili Township, died on the 4th inst., aged 72. He was a native of Kentucky but came to this state when quite young. He has been a resident of Hancock county many years, and accumulated considerable property. The wife and two children survive. |

Chili by Substitue Alpha Forsythe Dead. Mr. A. Forsythe, who had been ill for some time past, died last Friday and was buried Sunday. He was in his 72nd year. He was born in Kentucky and came to this state while quite young, therefore was one of the oldest and best known settlers in the county. A wife and two children survive him. |

Bowen by Impartial Alpha Forsythe died Friday, Sept. 4th, and was buried Sunday in the Forsythe graveyard. His funeral was attended by a very large number of relatives and acquaintences. |
